Does the Church
Breed Racism?

Research shows that White Christians are less likely to believe in the existence of systemic racism and less likely to view Confederate monuments as symbols of racism compared to White non-Christians.   Conversely, Black Christians are more likely to believe in the existence of systemic racism compared to Black non-Christians.  What is it about our diverse faith experiences that cause Black and White Christians to move in opposite directions regarding perspectives on racism?  More troublingly, this disparity between Black and White Christians is widening, not narrowing.
